The Roman bridge of Madrigal de la Vera, also known as the “Puente Viejo” or old bridge, is part of a Roman road that connected Plasencia with the Puerto del Pico mountain pass and Ávila. Just underneath the bridge is Madrigal de la Vera's natural public swimming pool.
